THE SCALES FALL FROM MY EYES
On 15 June, I had the great pleasure of travelling to Szczecin to attend the vernissage of the Biennial, where my work received the Grand Prix. During the ceremony, I also had the wonderful surprise of receiving a monetary award from the “Neptun Sięgając Gwiazd” Foundation.
Although my time in Szczecin was short, the kindness and hospitality of the organisers made it truly special. They took the time to show me around some of the most interesting places in the city, which made the visit even more memorable.
For a long time, I hesitated about whether I should make such a long journey. One obstacle after another seemed to appear, and there were many moments when it would have been easier to simply stay home. Despite everything, I decided to follow through with my small dream of attending the vernissage — and I am so glad that I did.
The experience brought me a great deal of joy and, perhaps even more importantly, the hope and encouragement I needed at that time.
I had the opportunity to see so many incredible artworks and meet people who share the same passion for art. Seeing such a vibrant and growing artistic community was deeply inspiring and left me feeling incredibly grateful and motivated.
Once again, this experience reminded me that hard work and humility can bring much more than success. They can also bring joy, meaningful connections, inspiration, and a sense of inner peace.

This painting is particularly special to me because it was the first large-scale gift I created for my nephew.
I designed it as more than just a painting — it became a kind of interactive project and toy, accompanied by a specially created book. The book contains a variety of activities connected to the world depicted in the painting, including “find it” games, where children can search for names, objects, and hidden illusions. It also includes a crossword, rebuses, and several stories about the characters living within the painted world.
Creating this piece was an incredibly fun and imaginative experience. I had the opportunity to play with magical colours, unusual characters, and a whole world of little details designed to spark curiosity and encourage exploration.
This was also my first time creating such a large painting specifically for a child, which made the project even more meaningful to me.
The painting was created with oil paints on a 160 × 60 cm canvas. It was a wonderful opportunity to combine painting, storytelling, and play into one colourful and imaginative experience.
I was delighted to receive a commission for three portraits featuring two beloved dogs. I was especially excited about this project because one of them was a Chow Chow — a breed that had been my dream dog for a very long time!
The portraits were created using graphite pencils and charcoal on 21 × 29.7 cm paper. I focused on capturing not only their physical features, but also their individual expressions and personalities.
Working on these portraits was a real pleasure, and the Chow Chow made the project particularly special for me. I hope you enjoy these portraits as much as I enjoyed creating them!
I received a commission to create a drawing based on a photograph taken at a charity gala. What I particularly enjoyed about this project was the challenge it presented in terms of capturing different materials, textures, and details.
The variety of fabrics, surfaces, and subtle textures in the photograph required more time and attention than usual to achieve a natural and convincing result. I enjoyed taking on this challenge and carefully working through each element to make the final drawing feel both realistic and expressive.
The artwork was created on 21 × 29.7 cm paper and was commissioned as a gift for my client’s boss.
It was a rewarding project that pushed me to be more patient and precise with my technique while exploring how different textures can be translated into a traditional drawing.
This order was commissioned by a couple preparing for their wedding. They asked me to create a wedding guest book and an envelope box, both designed to complement the overall style and atmosphere of their special day.
The wedding theme was inspired by flowers, lightness, soft whites, and the beauty of a summer meadow. I wanted the pieces to feel delicate, romantic, and timeless, while still having a handmade, artistic character. For the project, I used acrylic paints protected with an anti-dust varnish, a touch of crackle medium, and golden accents to add a subtle touch of elegance and warmth.
The entire project was a real pleasure to create, especially because the bride had a very clear vision of what she was looking for. Being able to translate her ideas into something tangible and personal made this commission particularly meaningful.
I hope these pieces will not only beautifully complement their wedding day, but also become cherished keepsakes that bring back wonderful memories for years to come.
This card was created for my sister’s baby shower as a special keepsake filled with love and good wishes for the baby.
After the video was taken, all of the guests had the opportunity to sign the card and leave their personal messages. My sister loved it so much that she now keeps it on her desk as a beautiful reminder of how much love and support already surrounds her and her baby.
This was also the first time I had used this particular mechanism in a handmade gift card. It was a new creative challenge for me, but seeing how much everyone appreciated and enjoyed it made the experience truly worthwhile.
The card was created on 23 × 30 cm watercolour paper, combining an artistic design with a personal and interactive element.
For me, this piece is much more than a greeting card — it became a little collection of memories, wishes, and love from the people closest to my sister and her growing family.
This painting is a portrait of my family's pets, created with acrylic paints on a 50 × 70 cm canvas.
My main goal was not only to capture their appearance, but also to show each pet's individual personality and their unique attitudes towards one another. I wanted the painting to tell a little story about their relationships and everyday dynamics.
The composition and characters are intentionally slightly exaggerated, giving the piece a playful and satirical feel. By emphasizing certain features, expressions, and behaviours, I tried to capture the humour and individuality of each pet rather than creating a strictly realistic portrait.
This was a particularly enjoyable piece to create because it allowed me to combine observation, affection, and a bit of artistic exaggeration to portray the personalities of my family's beloved pets.

This abstract artwork was commissioned as a visual memory of a foreigner's life and experiences in Poland.
The piece was created using a combination of acrylic paints and watercolours on 29.7 × 42 cm paper. The main idea was to create an abstract composition in which the experiences, emotions, and memories of one particular person could be hidden within the forms, colours, and textures.
Rather than depicting specific places or events literally, I wanted to translate personal experiences into an abstract visual language. The artwork was designed so that the person it was created for could recognise fragments of her own journey and memories within the composition.
For me, this project was a beautiful exploration of how abstract art can become deeply personal — allowing memories to be captured not through realistic imagery, but through colour,
This abstract painting was commissioned by a couple who wanted a surprise artwork that would complement their existing paintings and harmonize with their interior.
The piece was created using acrylic paints on a 90 × 90 cm canvas. The inspiration came from nature — trees, rocks, and leaves — which I transformed and arranged into a geometric composition.
The colour palette is dominated by cool shades of grey, with carefully placed pops of colour that break through the muted tones and add warmth, contrast, and visual interest to the composition.
The fact that the artwork was intended as a surprise made the project especially exciting. I had to create something that would feel personal and fit naturally into their space without knowing their reaction beforehand.
Thankfully, the surprise was a success! I truly enjoyed creating this piece and exploring the balance between natural forms, geometric structure, and contrasting colours.
Another commissioned abstract painting, created specifically for the client's living space.
The painting was created using acrylic paints on a 60 × 110 cm canvas. The main idea was to create a composition with a strong sense of depth while carefully selecting colours that would complement the colour of the living room wall where the artwork would be displayed.
I focused on layering, colour relationships, and subtle contrasts to give the painting a dimensional and immersive quality. The goal was to create a piece that would stand out while still harmoniously blending into its surroundings.
I really enjoyed exploring how colour, depth, and composition can transform an abstract painting into something that feels naturally connected to the space it is created for.

This was a commissioned abstract painting created specifically to complement the client's living room.
The painting was created using acrylic paints on a 60 × 90 cm canvas. The main idea was to create a soft, harmonious composition with a carefully chosen colour palette that would blend naturally with the existing interior.
I focused on gentle shapes, subtle contrasts, and calming colours to create a piece that would add character to the room while maintaining a light and peaceful atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the process of creating a work that was not only an individual piece of art, but also designed to become a natural part of someone's home.
I was delighted to receive another commission for a family portrait from the same client. It made me especially happy to know that they enjoyed my artwork enough to return and entrust me with another meaningful piece.
As with the previous portrait, I worked from a photograph provided by the client, aiming to capture the people and the personal feeling of the original image.
The portrait was created on 420 × 297 mm technical drawing paper, using graphite pencils and charcoal. Combining these two mediums allowed me to create delicate details, deeper shadows, and a natural range of tones.
Receiving a second commission from the same person was a wonderful compliment and a reminder of how meaningful it is when someone connects with your art and chooses to come back for more.
My first commission in 2020 was a truly exciting project! I had the opportunity to create a fully personalized calendar from beginning to end.
The project was especially meaningful because I created all of the illustrations from scratch, based on the thoughts, verses, and ideas provided by the client. Each illustration was designed to reflect the individual meaning and atmosphere behind the chosen words, making the calendar a completely unique and personal creation.
All of the illustrations were created digitally using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
This project was a wonderful experience and an important milestone for me as an artist. It gave me the opportunity to take an idea from the very beginning all the way to a finished, cohesive product — and made my first commission of 2020 truly memorable.

This Christmas, I had the honor of creating a collection of Christmas cards for a fundraising event held at MDK Chorzów.
The cards were sold during the event, with all proceeds going towards supporting Marta Konik, who is battling cancer and raising funds for treatment with a new-generation medication, trabectedin.
It was a very meaningful project for me, knowing that something I created could contribute, even in a small way, to such an important cause. I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to use my creativity to support someone in need.
Sometimes, art can be more than something beautiful — it can also become a small part of something that truly matters.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with MABI PRINT on creating a range of original characters for educational purposes and activities designed to engage children.
For the character design process, I used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, developing playful and approachable visuals that would be both appealing to children and suitable for educational materials.
It was a truly enjoyable experience, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with the MABI PRINT team. They were incredibly professional, kind, and supportive throughout the entire process.
I look forward to future opportunities to collaborate with companies like MABI PRINT and to continue creating illustrations and characters that can bring creativity and joy into children's learning.

I am delighted to share some wonderful news about my recent success at the International Biennial.
I received the news almost a year after completing the awarded piece, which made the moment even more special. I am truly grateful that my work was appreciated and recognized by the jury.
Moments like this remind me that dedication, patience, and hard work truly do pay off. It is incredibly encouraging to see that something I created with passion has resonated with others and received this recognition.
A beautiful reminder to keep creating, keep learning, and keep believing in the work.
